Ans. All the children were going to Eidgah with their parents but Hameed's parents were no more, so he was going alone with his friends, Amina was worried about Hameed's safety.

हमीद ने जब चिमटा अपनी दादी को दिया तब दादी ने उसे डाँटा, क्योंकि हमीद ने न कुछ खाना खाया था न कुछ पीया था और उसके पास जो केवल तीन पैसे थे उससे भी वह चिमटा खरीद लाया ।

Ans. When Hamid gave the tongs to his grandmother, at first she scolded him for making the purchase but later she burst into tears and beseeched Allah's blessings for her grandchild. Ans. According to Hamid, his chimta is like a brave soldier who can face water and storm without moving an inch. He compares his tongs to other delicate toys that can break easily. If the tongs are held on the shoulder it looks like a gun, when held in the hands it transforms into a pair of cymbals. In this way the extractor works like a toy as well as the extractor will be useful in the house too but toys are a waste of money. The biggest thing is that Hamid will get showered with blessings and lots of praises for buying the tongs, but the rest of the children will not get any blessings or praises for the toys they have brought for themselves.
हामिद के अनुसार उसका चिमटा एक बहादुर सिपाही की तरह है जो एक इंच भी हिले बिना पानी और तूफान का सामना कर सकता है। वह अपने चिमटे की तुलना अन्य नाज़ुक खिलौनों से करता है जो आसानी से टूट सकते हैं। अगर चिमटे को कंधे पर रखा जाए तो यह बंदूक की तरह दिखता है, इसे हाथों में लें तो यह झांझ की जोड़ी के रूप में बदल जाता है। इस तरह चिमटा खिलौने की तरह काम करता है साथ ही चिमटा घर में भी उपयोगी होगा लेकिन खिलौने पैसे की बर्बादी हैं। सबसे बड़ी बात हामिद के चिमटा खरीदने पर दुआओं की बौछार और ढेर सारी शाबाशी मिलेगी, लेकिन बाकी बच्चो को अपने लिए लाए खिलौनों के लिए कोई भी दुआ या शाबाशी नही मिलेगी ।

Ans. The other kids were blessed with parents and belonged to the financially sound families where Hamid lost his parents at the age of four. He lived with his grandmother Amina, who could barely make ends meet by doing sewing work and housework. His condition was so bad that he did not even have a handful of grain on the day of Eid. When Hameed and his friends went to visit the Idgah and the fair, Hameed's friends enjoyed the fair and bought beautiful clay toys, but Hameed kept his feelings under control. He did not eat sweets or drink cold drinks but bought an iron tongs for his grandmother with his money. In this way he not only proved himself intelligent but also maintained his self-respect.
हमीद के दोस्तो के माता-पिता थे, और वे आर्थिक रूप से मजबूत परिवारों से थे, जहाँ हामिद ने चार साल की उम्र में अपने माता-पिता को खो दिया था। वह अपनी दादी अमीना के साथ रहता था, जो सिलाई का काम और घरेलू गतिविधियाँ करके मुस्किल से अपनी ज़रूरतें पूरी कर पाती थीं। उनकी की स्थिति इतनी खराब थी कि ईद के दिन उसके पास एक मुट्ठी अनाज भी नहीं था। जब हमीद और उसके दोस्तो ईदगाह व मेला घूमने गए तब हमीद के दोस्तों ने मेले का भरपूर आनंद लिया और मिट्टी के सुंदर खिलौने खरीदे लेकिन हामिद ने अपनी भावनाओं को संभाल कर रखा। उसने मिठाई नहीं खाई और न ही कोल्ड ड्रिंक पी बल्कि अपने पैसे से दादी के लिए लोहे का एक चिमटा खरीदा। इस तरह उन्होंने न केवल खुद को बुद्धिमान साबित किया बल्कि अपना स्वाभिमान भी बनाए रखा।

Ans. The title of the story 'Idgah' is appropriate as the events of the story revolve very close to an Idgah or a mosque. The story begins on the morning of Eid. This is the story of Hamid, a four-year-old orphan boy who lives with his grandmother, Amina. Hamid does not have new clothes, shoes or toys like his friends. His grandmother gives him only three paise as Idi which he spends on buying chimta instead of eating sweets or buying a toy at the fair. The story at its core evokes the spirit of love, care, sacrifice, empathy, kindness and satisfaction. Similarly Eidgah or Masjid is a holy place where one can feel eternal love peace and tranquility and Eid is a festival which teaches us how to love and care for our friends and relatives and share happiness together. God or Allah also gives us Idi in the form of virtuous life. Just as Idgah gives the message of love, unity, care and sacrifice, so does the character of Hamid.
(कहानी का शीर्षक 'ईदगाह' इसलिए उपयुक्त है क्योंकि कहानी की घटनाएं ईदगाह या मस्जिद के काफी करीब से घूमती हैं। कहानी ईद की सुबह से शुरू होती है। यह चार साल के अनाथ लड़के हामिद की कहानी है जो अपनी नानी अमीना के साथ रहता है। हामिद के पास उसके दोस्तों की तरह नए कपड़े, जूते या खिलौने नहीं हैं। उसकी दादी उसे ईदी के रूप में केवल तीन पैसे देती है जिसे वह मेले में मिठाई खाने या कोई खिलौना खरीदने के बजाय चिमटा खरीदने में खर्च करता है। कहानी अपने मूल में प्यार, देखभाल, त्याग, सहानुभूति, दया और संतुष्टि की भावना को उजागर करती है। इसी तरह ईदगाह या मस्जिद एक पवित्र स्थान है जहां कोई शाश्वत प्रेम शांति और शांति महसूस कर सकता है और ईद एक ऐसा त्योहार है जो हमें सिखाता है कि कैसे अपने दोस्तों और रिश्तेदारों से प्यार करना और उनकी देखभाल करना और एक साथ खुशियां बांटना है। ईश्वर या अल्लाह भी हमें सदाचारी जीवन के रूप में ईदी देता है। जिस तरह ईदगाह प्यार, एकता, परवाह और कुर्बानी का पैगाम देती है, उसी तरह हामिद का किरदार भी है।
