Summary:-

Gregorio López Fuentes was a Mexican novelist, poet and journalist. He came in contact with Indians, farmers and labourers, whose life he has given a unique description in his works.The story presented, "A Letter to God", depicts a farmer's unwavering faith in God. It follows a farmer named Lencho who hopes for a rain shower to nourish his corn field. He is sure that his crop will bring him huge profits like every year .That's why he is very excited, only then it rains which soon turns into a fierce hailstorm and destroys the farmer's entire crop. This incident affects his entire family as his whole year's expenses were met only by the profit from the crop. Lencho and his family get disappointed but they have faith in God, Lencho knew how to read and write even though he was a farmer, that's why he writes a letter to God and writes his and his family's condition in the letter and sends it to post. goes to the city. 

The postmaster looks at the letter and reads the letter in astonishment seeing the letter for God, he is delighted to see Lancho and his family's strong faith in God, and decides not to let their faith break. And thinks of sending some money from his salary to Lancho's family, in which his co-workers also cooperate voluntarily. 

The postmaster collects 70 pesos, wraps them in an envelope and sends them to Lancho. Upon receiving the letter, Lencho is not at all shocked, but rather enraged to see that the amount is less than he expected. He again writes a letter to God, suspecting that the post office workers may have stolen his money. So god use some other medium to send money to them.

ग्रेगोरियो लोपेज़ फ्यूएंटेस  एक मैक्सिकन उपन्यासकार, कवि और पत्रकार थे। वे भारतीयों, किसानों और मजदूरों के संपर्क में आए, जिनके जीवन का अनुपम वर्णन उन्होंने अपनी रचनाओं में किया है। प्रस्तुत कहानी, "ए लेटर टू गॉड" में एक किसान के भगवान पर अटूट विश्वास को दर्शाया गया है। इसमें लेंचो नाम के एक किसान होती है जो अपने मकई के खेत को पोषण देने के लिए बारिश की बौछार की उम्मीद करता है। उसे विश्वास रहता है कि उनकी फसल से उन्हें हर साल की तरह भारी मुनाफा होगा। इसलिए वह बहुत उत्साहित रहता है ,तभी बारिश होती है जो जल्दी ही भीषण ओलावृष्टि में बदल जाती है और किसान की सारी फसल नष्ट हो जाती है। इस घटना से उसका पूरा परिवार प्रभावित होता है क्योंकि उसकी साल भर का खर्चा फसल से होने वाले मुनाफे से ही चलता था।लेंचो और उसका परिवार निराश हो जाते है लेकिन उन्हें भगवान पर भरोसा रहता है , लेंचो किसान होते हुए भी पढ़ना लिखना जनता था, इसीलिए वह भगवान को पत्र लिखता है और अपना और अपने परिवार का सारा हाल पत्र में लिख देता है और उसे पोस्ट करने शहर जाता है। पोस्टमास्टर पत्र को देखता है और भगवान के लिए पत्र को देखकर हैरानी से उस पत्र को पढ़ने लगता है, लांचो और उसके परिवार के भगवान पर दृढ़ विश्वास को देखकर वह खुश हो जाता है,और फैसला करता है की वह उनके विश्वास को टूटने नही देगा और अपने वेतन से कुछ पैसे लांचो के परिवार को भेजने की सोचता है इसमें उसके सहकर्मी भी स्वेच्छा से सहयोग करते है पोस्टमास्टर 70 पेसो एकत्र कर एक लिफाफे में लपेटकर लांचो को भेज देता है। पत्र मिलने पर, लेंचो बिल्कुल चौंकता नहीं है, बल्कि यह देखकर क्रोधित हो जाता है कि राशि उसकी अपेक्षा (100 पेसो) से कम है। वह फिर से भगवान को एक पत्र लिखता है, इस संदेह में के डाकघर के कर्मचारियों ने उसके पैसे चुरा लिए होंगे। तो भगवान उन्हें पैसे भेजने के लिए किसी और मध्यम का प्रयोग करे।
