Poem:-
They did not tell us
what it would be like
without trees.
Nobody imagined
that the whispering of leaves
would grow silent
or the vibrant jade of spring
Pale to grey death.
And now we pile
rubbish on rubbish
in the dusty landscape
struggling to create
a tree.
But though the shape is right
and the nailed branches
lean upon the wind
lend colour to the twigs.
and plastic leaves
We wait in vain
for the slow unfurling of buds.
And no amount of loving
can stir our weary tree
to singing.

Summary :-
Tree is a very beautiful poem. It is short but sweet, with a deep message hidden in it which the poetess gives to the readers. Its author is Tina Morris, one of the greatest British poets of the 20th century. Through this poem, she is telling about the importance and utility of trees in human life. She is saying that if trees are not taken care of then human life will not exist. No human will be able to hear the sound of leaves of trees, drying leaves in autumn, greenery in monsoon will not be able to feel it. Nowadays humans have made dirt everywhere which hinders the development of trees and the growth of new plants. If we imagine an artificial tree, it will look exactly like a real tree but it will not have life, it will not be fruitful like a real tree because there is no substitute for nature. Through this poem Tina Morris tries to make the present generation understand that without trees the world would be colorless and barren. In short, this poem gives the message of conservation of trees.
वृक्ष बहुत सुंदर कविता है। यह छोटी है लेकिन मधुर है इसमें गहन संदेश छुपा हुआ है जो कवियत्री पाठको को देती है। इसकी लेखिका टीना मॉरिस है जो बीसवीं सदी के महानतम ब्रिटिश कवियों में से एक हैं। इस कविता के माध्यम से वह मानव जीवन में पेड़ों के महत्व और उपयोगिता के बारे में बता रही हैं। वह कह रही है की यदि वृक्षों की देखभाल न की जाए तो मानव जीवन का अस्तित्व नही रहेगा। कोई भी मानव पेड़ो के पत्तो की आवाज नही सुन पाएगा, पतझड़ में सूखते पत्ते, सावन में हरियाली इसका अनुभव नही कर पाएगा । आजकल मानव ने हर जगह गंदगी कर रखी है जो पेड़ो के विकास व नए पौधो को उगने में बाधक हैं। अगर हम एक कृत्रिम पेड़ की कल्पना करे तो वह देखने में बिल्कुल असली पेड़ की तरह ही होगा परंतु उसने जान नही होगी वह असल पेड़ की तरह फलदाई नही होगा क्योंकि प्रकृति का कोई विकल्प नहीं है। इस कविता के माध्यम से टीना मॉरिस वर्तमान पीढ़ी को यह समझने का प्रयत्न करती है कि पेड़ों के बिना दुनिया बेरंग और बंजर होगी। संक्षेप में यह कविता वृक्षों के संरक्षण का संदेश देती है।

अगर हम पेड़ो की रक्षा नही करेंगे तो जल्द ही सारे पेड़ नष्ट हो जाएंगे , पेड़ नहीं होंगे तो मनुष्य का इस धारा पर सांस लेना मुस्किल हो जाएगा, खाने को भोजन नहीं होगा, पीने को पानी नहीं होगा, ये धरती मरुस्थल के समान हो जाएगी जहां मनुष्य का अस्तित्व नहीं होगा।

Ans. The poet says that if the trees keep drying up due to this behavior of man, then a day will come when all the trees will be devoid of leaves, then man will not be able to hear the sound of wind and leaves hitting the trees.
कवित्री कहती है की अगर मनुष्य के इस व्यवहार के कारण पेड़ सूखते जाएंगे तो एक दिन ऐसा आएगा जब सभी पेड़ पत्तियों से रहित हो जाएंगे , तब मानव पेड़ो से टकराती हवा व पत्तियों की आवाजे नही सुन पाएगा।

पेड़ो की पत्तियों के मध्य से जब शांत हवा लगातार एक लहर के साथ बहती है तो पत्तियां आपस में टकराती हुई ऐसे आवाज करती है मानो गीत गा रही हो।

Ans. A man-made tree looks exactly like a linseed tree but does not have life in it. It does not have any qualities like the real tree.
मनुष्य द्वारा रचित पेड़ दिखने में बिल्कुल अलसी पेड़ की तरह होता है लेकिन उसमे जान नही होती । उसमे असल पेड़ की समान कोई गुण नही होते ।

प्रकृति संरक्षण के संदर्भ को व्यक्त करती कविता में कवि कहती है की हमे प्रकृति संसाधनों का सावधानी से उपयोग करना चाहिए, पेड़ पौधों को बिना वजह नुकसान नहीं पहुंचा चाहिए, उन्हें कटना नही चाहिए । अगर पेड़ को नही बचाया गया तो इस धरती पर इंसानों के लिए सांस लेना मुश्किल हो जाएगा, खाने के लिए अन्न नहीं होगा, पीने के लिए पानी नहीं होगा, यह धरती रंगहीन रेगिस्तान जैसी हो जाएगी जहां इंसानों का अस्तित्व ही नहीं रहेगा।

Ans- 1. Trees give us oxygen and take carbon dioxide, due to which the balance of gases in the atmosphere is maintained and we can breathe in the atmosphere.
2. We get different types of fruits, vegetables and grains from trees, from which we get food which is necessary for the development of human body.
3. When it is the rainy season, the trees attract the raindrops towards them, due to which it rains at that place. It has often been seen that where there are more trees or there is more rain in the forests, this is the reason for it.
4. The roots of the trees are deep in the ground, when it rains, the water goes into the ground through these roots, due to which the water level of the land increases, due to which there is no drought at that place and the land remains fertile.
5. Due to the roots of the trees being deep in the ground, it holds the soil, which prevents soil erosion in situations like flood, tsunami.
Apart from this, we get medicines from trees, different small and big businesses run. The beauty of the earth is due to the greenery of trees and forests, there is life in it, so we have to save forests and trees.
1. पेड़ हमे ऑक्सीजन देते है और कार्बन डाय ऑक्साइड को लेते है जिससे वायुमंडल में गैसों का संतुलन बना रहता है और हम वातावरण में सांस ले पाते है ।
2. पेड़ से हमे तरह तरह के फल सब्जियां अन्न की प्राप्ति होती है जिससे हमे भोजन मिलता है जो मानव शरीर के विकास के लिए आवश्यक है ।
3. जब बारिश का मौसम होता है तो पेड़ बारिश के बदलो को अपनी ओर आकर्षित करते है ,जिससे उस स्थान पर बारिश होती है। अक्सर देखा गया है कि जहां ज्यादा पेड़ होते है अथवा वनो में बारिश ज्यादा होती है इसका यही कारण है ।
4. पेड़ो की जड़े जमीन में गहराई तक होती है ,जब बारिश होती है तो इन्ही जड़ों से होते हुए पानी भूमि में जाता है जिससे जा भूमि का जल स्तर बढ़ता है, जिससे उस स्थान पर सूखा नही पड़ता और जमीन उपजाऊ रहती है।
5. पेड़ो की जड़े जमीन में गहराई तक होने के कारण ही वह मृदा को पकड़कर रखती है जिससे बाढ़ , सुनामी जैसे हालातों में मृदा अपरदन से बचाव होता है।
इसके अतिरिक्त पेड़ो से हमे औषधी प्राप्त होती है , अलग अलग छोटे बड़े व्यवसाय चलते है। पेड़ो व वनों की हरियाली से पृथ्वी का सौंदर्य है , इसमें जीवन है अतः हमे वनों व पेड़ो को बचाना है।
